Want to know how to make your weight loss journey easier with one simple step?
I’m sharing it in this week’s Thriving As A Physician podcast episode.
Oh! And guess what… this one simple step will also make your days feel lighter and more enjoyable
Sound too good to be true? It’s not.
All you need to do is stop waging war with your body and your mind.
Give me a second of your time before you tell yourself that this doesn’t apply to you or would be too hard to change and turn away. This shit is important.
We have been taught…
- that bodies that like to hold weight are wrong in some way
- that if our body doesn’t shed weight immediately when we make changes, it’s wrong
- that if our brain loves to seek out food for comfort, it’s wrong
- that if we are a physician and have a body that holds weight and a brain that seeks food for comfort, it’s double wrong
So we end up in the position of us against it (our cravings, our body) and try to create change by wrestling with the parts we perceive as “wrong”
But what if nothing about you was wrong?
What if every adipose cell on your body was okay?
What if that little piece of your brain that whispers loving messages about having another snack in the evening was ok?
Now I know that those might be challenging shifts to embrace right away but I gotta tell you – they are worthwhile.
When you stop waging war with your body, it doesn’t mean you are stuck where you are at. You can still create change in your life. But it will feel very different when you create change from a place of working with your body and mind as a team, instead of the enemies.
Be sure to listen to this week’s podcast episode – I got really fired up in it and so it’s a good one. This one episode could completely change how managing your weight feels.
