This episode is dedicated to every physician who struggles with binge eating.

I see you.

The strain and exhaustion of always thinking about what you have eaten, thinking about what you should eat and worrying about having another binge is real. And the impacts are far reaching.

Many physicians struggle with this in silence. You are not alone.

The shame you feel after having a binge is just part of the binge eating pattern (it’s even in the DSM criteria).

Your eating does not define your worth.

The things you say to yourself (that you would never say to another human being) after having a binge are not true.

Overeating does not define your success.

There are reasons why you have binges – and they have nothing to do with personal defects or lack of willpower.

The solutions will never come in diets or more restriction.

But there are solutions.

There is hope.
