Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine achieving your deepest desires and goals. How does that make you feel? Exciting, right? But also…a little scary?
You’re not alone. Many of us physicians have goals that matter deeply to us, yet they’re often intertwined with fear.
You know… where thinking about your goal immediately reminds you of that tempting piece of ice cream cake you ate last night.
It leaves you grappling with wanting the end result while being acutely aware of the distance you need to travel—and sometimes doubting if you’ll ever get there.
Guess what — this is not an effective place to create lasting change from.
If we truly want different results in achieving our health goals, we need to shift our perspective on goal-setting. And I’m here to share just how to do that in the third part of our Fresh Start Series this week.
Goals shouldn’t be a stick to beat yourself up with or a constant reminder of where you fall short—they should inspire you, motivate you, and light a fire within you from the very first step of your journey.
Why wait until you reach the finish line to feel accomplished? Every step forward is a victory. Let’s foster a nurturing, supportive relationship with our goals. Trust me, it makes the journey so much smoother and even enjoyable.
And when those inevitable bumps in the road appear (because let’s face it, they will), having goals that fill you with warmth and confidence will keep you moving forward.
So how do you do this? Listen to the podcast episode this week (below) – I go into depth on my techniques to choose goals that light you up inside and keep you going.
When you know how to set goals that make you feel successful right from the start, the need to worry about staying motivated fades away—because your goals do the heavy lifting for you.
Ready to light up your journey? Let’s get started. Listen to the full episode now.
