I seriously can’t believe I’m saying this… 300 episodes! It feels like just yesterday I was nervously hitting “record” on the very first one, feeling my mouth go dry, hoping I had something helpful to share.

Now, nearly six years later, here we are. It’s been quite a journey, and I’m so glad you’ve been with me along the way.

This episode is extra special. I’m sharing the biggest lessons I’ve learned through all these years of coaching, my own ups and downs, and countless conversations with you and other amazing women physicians who’ve opened up about their struggles.

It’s not the kind of advice you’ll find in a typical diet book. It’s the real stuff—what actually makes a difference when you’re trying to juggle a busy career, a family, and everything else life throws at you.

I’ll be honest, there were times I wasn’t sure I’d EVER lose weight.  I thought it would be something I would struggle with for the rest of my life.

I still remember those late nights during residency, feeling completely drained and swinging by Wendy’s because I didn’t know how else to keep going.

If you’ve ever felt that kind of exhaustion—the kind where you’re just doing whatever you can to get by—trust me, I get it. I’ve been there.

That’s why I’m sharing five pieces of advice I wish I’d known back then. Here’s a sneak peek:

  • Be kinder to yourself about your eating. I used to think being hard on myself would keep me in line. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. It just made me feel even more stuck.
  • No one’s coming to magically start caring for you. If you’re waiting for the perfect time to appear so you can finally focus on yourself, it won’t. You’ve got to make that space for yourself, even if it feels a little selfish. It’s not—it’s necessary.
  • Forget the rush. Letting go of the pressure not only feels better, but it actually helps you reach your goals faster.
  • Start trusting yourself around food again. It’s not about willpower—it’s about learning how to trust and believe in yourself. It’s one of the biggest things you can do to reach your goals.
  • Give yourself permission to take up space. We’re so used to putting everyone else’s needs first. But you know what? You deserve some space too. The more you give yourself, the more you’ll actually have to give to others.

I’m sharing these lessons because if I could go back and change one thing, I’d start being kinder to myself much sooner. I’d stop waiting for someone else to tell me it was okay to take care of myself. And I’d realize that this whole thing is a marathon, not a sprint.

You don’t want to miss this one. It’s packed with the kind of advice I wish I’d had when I was struggling most. I hope it saves you a few years of frustration.

Listen to the episode below, and let’s celebrate these 300 episodes together.
